Tony Hawk Mania Hits iTunes App Store

Tony Hawk, Skateboarding Legend and iPhone App Celebrity
Make no mistake, Tony Hawk is a household name and you know it. Perhaps you’ve not touched a skateboard in your life, or can’t even recognize Tony Hawk even if he is behind you at the check out counter. But when you see Tony Hawk’s name on a T-shirt or a video game, chances are you would’ve known that he is responsible for making skateboarding famous not only amongst enthusiasts but also for other folks like you and me.

Recently, Tony Hawk made headlines when his first iPhone app claimed the top spot in the Sports apps category. Not only is the Trick Tips priced at a very attractive $0.99 per download, it also includes step by step instructions via text, static pictures and videos teaching users not one, not two, but FIFTY (50) of the best skateboarding tricks. Users can start with very basic tricks and work their way up to the more advanced skateboarding moves. I’m not going to start on what sort of moves you can learn, be they kickflips or rail tricks but if Tony Hawk is involved, you can bet that this app is a winner.

Tony Hawk’s Trick Tips: More Than a Video Game
The beauty of Tony Hawk’s Trick Tips is that it never wanted to be yet another game clogging up the app store. It also did not aspire to be as successful as his other video games for numerous console platforms such as the PS3 and XBOX 360. Instead, what it does is offer a truly enriching experience for skateboarding fans, whether they are enthusiastic newbies or ardent professionals.

More from Tony Hawk
Hawkize is also another cool app from the skateboarding guru that gives you the most updated news from Tony Hawk himself, while the Faceplant app allows you to have a bit replacing Tony Hawk’s mug with your own so that you can send awesome photos of yourself doing the most jaw dropping skateboarding stunts!

ESPN has a great interview with the skateboarding legend, check it out here.
