Now Everyone Can Be an iPhone App Creator With AppMakr

Submitted by on February 10, 2010 – 2:37 amNo Comment

Create your own iPhone app in seconds!
Are you as awed as I am by the mind boggling amount of iPhone apps in the App Store? If you want to create your own app but aren’t quite equipped with the right know-how to do so, you’ll appreciate what AppMakr can do for you.

Created by PointAbout, a great new startup that’s set to revolutionize the application development industry, AppMakr lets you include feeds from any RSS-enable website and publish the app directly to Apple. Building an app via AppMakr is like building a website using a basic building tool. You can add feeds from a list of RSS feeds suggested by AppMakr, then put in custom icons and design your own splash screen then select your revenue-generating options (think:AdMob).

AppMakr Pricing
So how much will all this cost us non-developers? If you don’t want to spend thousands of dollars hiring a developer to create your iPhone app, would $199 sound like a great deal to you? It sure does! This price lets AppMakr take care of everything but the catch is that you’ll need to give them credit in the app’s opening splash screen. Paying $499 lets you use your own Apple Developer Account, giving you much deserved credit while at the same time allowing AppMakr to manage your app in the App Store. A complete demo can be seen here at the AppMakr site.

I think this will definitely revolutionize the way apps are made. However, there are still benefits attached to hiring developers creating your apps the good old fashioned way. Plus, AppMakr comes with restrictions whereby limited features hinders you from creating even simple game-based applications. Nonetheless bloggers will want to check AppMakr out because this is the fastest and cheapest way to reach out to even more members of the audience. Prominent blogger Seth Godin already has one in the App Store, btw.

What do you think, are you inspired to create your own apps this year?
