TigerText – The iPhone App That Tiger Woods Wish He Had
Cover your tracks
The world is still reeling over Tiger Woods’ string of adulterous affairs. So it’s no wonder that those very same people are the ones who are not very happy over the release of an iPhone application, aptly called TigerText. Time Magazine is saying that this app will encourage spouses to cheat on each other because TigerText can erase all traces of text messages sent and received – whether they are from the sender or recipient’s phone, or servers in between.
However, some are saying that this app is the ideal tool for unethical groups of people especially politicians who will misuse it for their own gain. Others marvel at how much importance Americans place on privacy and how far they will go to protect their personal lives (read: other lives in between).
Rave reviews
With all the negative stigma surrounding this app, it’s surprising to see that there are still many positive reviews for TigerText in the iTunes store. Some expressed satisfaction knowing that their messages will be gone because they don’t need the extra text clogging up precious space in their iPhones. Another also mentioned that they are able to send their TigerText usernames to others in lieu of their phone numbers if they do not want to divulge their mobile phone numbers.
My take on this? I think this can be a potentially great app if not misused. Besides, those who don’t really need to re-read their text messages can set TigerText to “delete upon read” which can really help them avoid spending more time deleting numerous text messages later. Personally I like to keep meaningful message to read later. =)
You can download TigerText here in iTunes but you’re encouraged from using it wisely at your own discretion ![]()
