5 New April Apple iPhone Games to Tempt You

The iPad is finally here! But that doesn’t mean that iPhone apps are dead, no sirree! Au contraire, developers continued to work hard around the clock to add more apps to the already burgeoning App Store – around 180,000 apps are reported to exist in the market, and that’s not including the 3,000-odd iPad applications released in tandem with the device.

Phew. It’s been a busy week for Apple, so let’s take a breather on the iPad apps and check out 5 of the most anticipated iPhone game applications this week!

1. Above
I am not a lover of platform games by nature, but I find that Above is quite a gem! Weary gamers are sure to love the vivid background as well as the addictive game play. For only $1.99, this is an excellent game if you have time to kill.

2. Bounce On 2: Drallo’s Demise
This game is considered a horizontal rolling platform game that will keep you on the edge of your seats. Developed by Team Phobic, both this game and its predecessor have garnered a huge following. Some fans did not even giving a thought about its $3.99 price tag which I felt was a tad bit expensive for a platformer. But nonetheless, Bounce on 2 will definitely charm and entertain you no end.

3. The Sims 3 World Adventure
I am pleased as pudding about this one! Have been a huge fan of the Sims games since its humble PC days and to see the Sims 3 being available on the iPhone is sheer joy! The Sims 3 World Adventure is no mere expansion pack. It takes your Sims to all sorts of global locations such as China and Egypt. New locales, new missions and new stuff! What more can you ask for when you pay $6.99 for such a great game :)

4. Star Wars: Cantina
Lest you say “Oh no, not another Diner Dash-like game!” let me assure you that both Star Wars fans and non-fans alike will find this game highly entertaining. The Cantina Theme keeps you on your feet – if anything this game is worth getting for the amusing SFX and music. Star Wars: Cantina can be downloaded for $4.99.

5. Vampire Origins
Vampire Origins is no Devil May Cry but this third person hack-and-slasher is a real treat for gamers who like games in this variety. Survival horror never looked this good! At $6.99 it’s cheaper than your average third person games on the XBOX 360 for sure.
