This app will read text messages out loud once they are recieved. In addition the app will allow the user to record his voice into a text message and send it to a contact upon request. This will be extremely helpful when used with blue tooth to prevent people from driving and text messaging!
Hello! First, if you want to handle messages (SMS, MMS, IM Push notifications), then you`ll not be able to submit this application to the App Store, because Messages framework is private and Apple will reject this app once you try to submit.
You can, however, sell your application through Cydia, alternative app market, they reject nothing.
We already have voice-recognition (voice-to-text) module, but it works with our web-service, so far recognizing is performing on the server side. This means, that application will require internet connection to perform voice recognition.
As for text-to-voice solutions, we also have clues about that, we`ll use a C-library for this task.
There are other requirements to investigate closer, such as running in background, the types of messages to catch and handle (i.e. we can catch both SMS and Push messages and read them, but we can answer only to SMS and MMS).
Our approximate estimate for this project is 3-5 work weeks.
